2022 Word of The Year Goal Setting Process

Jan 08, 2022

Happy New Year to all of you. Welcome to 2022!

Cheers to a brand new year. A clean slate full of possibilities.

It doesn’t matter what happened last year… it doesn’t matter what happened over the past 3 years… you have a brand new year ahead to create, and grow, and have new experiences, new successes, new failures, and new achievements.

You have the power to truly make this year absolutely incredible.

I want to share something with you that will set you up for the year ahead in a great way.

Every year since 2018 I choose a Word of the Year.

AND every year I set goals for myself. I’ve been doing that for as long as I can remember.

I look at all the things that I want to achieve personally and professionally, and then my plan is to look over those goals regularly as I navigate the year ahead. Ideally every single week!

Setting goals is very important to me, but so is following up on what I set out for myself at the beginning of the...

Why do we set goals?

Dec 15, 2021

Do you set goals for yourself?

I do!

I love setting goals AND I believe it's my responsibility as a Success Coach to set goals and work towards achieving them.

Why? Because it's essentially what I help my clients do.

They have a problem… I have a solution… and I support them in achieving whatever it is they are working towards.

As I work towards achieving my own goals, I'm required to step outside my comfort zone and invest the energy and time that's necessary to achieve my desired outcomes.

When I build my own goal achieving muscles - I'm better equipped to help my clients accomplish their dreams.

I was thinking about this from the perspective of a coach –  it’s important for me to set goals because that’s what I help my clients do. But then I realized it's also important for ALL health and wellness entrepreneurs because they're helping their clients reach desired outcomes as well.

It doesn't really...

Using Your Word of the Year To Simplify Your Goals in 5 Easy Steps

Jan 06, 2021

Well 2020... That Was Weird!

If last year has taught us anything, it's that things can go sideways really quickly and knock you off balance!

Normally at the beginning of every year I write a list of goals I want to accomplish throughout that year. Some of my goals in the past have been:
  • Learn a new language.
  • Read a book every week.
  • Start a podcast.
  • Sign up X amount of people to my programs.
  • Get in the best shape of my life.
You get the idea.

I would estimate that I accomplish 10% of the goals I put down on my list by the end of the year (probably less) – and if you know me, you know I’m VERY driven, focused and determined. So why only 10%?

“You overestimate what you can do in a year, but underestimate what you can do in ten”.

Over this past week, once again I sat down with a cup of tea and set some goals for myself... but here's the thing! I simplified the process significantly this year because I want 2021 to be full of...

Having The Courage To Let Go.

Nov 13, 2020

Letting Go.

What does that mean to you?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately as I’ve been shifting my energy and how I spend my days. Normally my days are time blocked from the moment I wake up to the moment my head hits the pillow at night. Meetings, sessions with clients, working out, creating programs, updating websites, meditating, working with my staff, eating, professional development, webinars, social media, writing, shooting videos, going live, family and domestic responsibilities.... ALL the things and more squeezed into a very short day.

That's the way it's been for a long time, but not any more. Over the past several weeks I've:

  • Let go of projects that I thought we’re helping me achieve certain goals.
  • Let go of the idea that working hard is the path to success.
  • Mentally let go of things I would typically be stressing over all day and night that I thought were important.
  • Even let go of physical items that are no longer serving me that I've been...

What Does It Mean To Manifest?

Aug 10, 2017

What Does It Mean To Manifest?

Manifest. How huge is this buzzword? No doubt you have heard it thrown around a lot. Regardless of its trendiness, I really believe in the power of manifesting and I’m going to tell you why.

Before I go into my own personal story, I’m going to share some conversations I had recently.

Not long ago, over brunch, my friend was telling me that she really believes in the power of manifestation, but her boyfriend doesn’t.

She’s a young writer, and one of her high level goals is to write for the New York Times. It’s a lofty goal, and not an easy thing to achieve, especially being Canadian. So when her boyfriend was in New York for work, she asked him to bring her home a copy of the newspaper so she could display it in her house and have it act as a symbol to help her make her dream come true.

The power of focus and manifesting

She was a bit shy in telling me all this because she didn’t know how I would react,...
